Forgotten North

An ongoing exploration of the north and the communities that lay by Highway 11, Canada’s longest road. I traveled this road frequently as a child with a family split between the North and South. The passthrough communities that relied on traffic from northern mining and logging towns traveling down to the south for supplies have been hit hard by Covid-19 travel restrictions and the continuous development of large online corporations. Many of these places were either staples of my childhood road trips or stops that were out of reach due to a lack of personal agency when I was young.
